The Devil's Blood - The Thousandfold Epicentre (2011)

This one was 'on hold' for quite some time. With the sea of new releases this year it's hard to keep track of all the fantastic music that's coming our way... So here we have 'The Thousandfold Epicentre', the second full-length from The Devil's Blood

There are lots of praising reviews out there, and when I mostly agree on the fact that this is a lengthy, epic work of weird psychedelica & occult 70's worshipping rock. The Thousandfold Epicentre is quite a mountain to climb with it's 1,2 hour length & more experimental take on the overall sound. An album that shows progression like no other while staying true to the old school sound. But when taking a dose of this unholy Dutch ritual I still prefer the band's EP & debut. That being said, a matter of personal taste really, this is a damn good album that comes highly recommended (I absolutely love the opener & the title track). All this comes in a fantastic package with stunning artwork (both digi CD/ LP). More reviews: Doommantia/ Lords Of Metal
