Indian - Guiltless (2011)

Chicago's "Indian", one of my early addictions to doomy sludge metal. The Unquiet Sky blew my mind in the past with an utterly heavy, raw & destructive sound. This band was quite unique back in the day & it lived on, deeply underground. This year the almighty Relapse Records picked these guys up with "Guiltless", Indian's fourth album. This one proves that the band is still going strong with their sludged out sounds of hate & despair. Brace yourself!

The Wounded Kings - In The Chapel Of The Black Hand (2011)

The Wounded Kings is one of those bands who kept quite a low profile in my music library with "Embrace Of The Narrow House". I never really started listening (read: with intensity) to these guys, until now. Thank god for Doommantia with their awesome reviews, be sure to head over there and read it. "In The Chapel Of The Black Hand" is the third full-length from these English doomsters.

The band recently changed their vocalist, George Birch, with Sharie Neyland. Quite a change, since the vocals of Birch were part of the huge, unholy sound. Anyhow, it seems like the band did the right thing after all. I'm always a bitch for female vocals, especially when it comes to hypnotizing, haunting doom. From The Devil's Blood to Acid King & Blood Ceremony, it just works like a charm. In a nutshell: Expect a heavy dose of utterly heavy wizard riffing in a spooky, medieval package. Check it out, highly recommended!

Tia Carrera - The November Session (2003)

Finally got my hands on some older, high quality Tia Carrera releases. Time to give these guys more exposure on here. Tia Carrera is a 3-piece jam band from Austin, Texas. They (mostly) play improvised tunes, following in the footsteps of old legends like Cream, Blue Cheer & Jimi Hendrix. This is bluesy, psychedelic "stoner rock" in it's most raw & purest form. Just like San Diego's Earthless, Tia Carrera isn't afraid to make 20+ minute tracks filled with colourful jams. Highly recommended for anyone that loves hot, dusty rock without any rules... Released by Australian Cattle God Records.
